    TASK

    Task 2: Character Concept Development

    Alternative Outfit

Fig. 3.1, Outfit Moodboard & References

First, I made the outfits to fit more into the world of the character, portraying him as one of the bad guys. However, after consulting with Mr. Fitri, I decided to go for a holiday-themed outfit.

I ended up choosing the santa outfit, but I decided to change some aspects to make it fit the theme of my character's vibe more.

    Character Pose

Sorin, again, is quiet and think rationally during battle, most of the time. I drew several poses which I thin describes these characteristics of Sorin.

Out of all these, I have to clean up atleast 3.

    Facial Expressions

    Weapon

I'm thinking of giving my character a katana, but I wasn't sure on what type of katana or what shape would it look like. So I made 4 sketches for the weapon.

    I chose the last weapon.

Rounded gear-like mechanisms available in every BXI swords. The energy are designed to destroy blooming cells within the target, causing their body to stop regenerating for a certain period of time. It is only activated the moment the sword is drawn from the scabbard, charging the sword which caused the blade to glow.

    REFLECTIONS

Throughout this task, I focused on developing Sorin as a calm and rational character while keeping his design consistent with his personality. I initially explored darker antagonist outfits but shifted to a holiday-themed design after receiving feedback, adapting a Santa-inspired outfit to better match his serious demeanor. I explored several poses to reflect his composed and strategic fighting style, then refined three for clarity and balance. Facial expressions were kept subtle to reinforce his quiet nature. For the weapon, I experimented with different katana designs before finalizing one with energy-based mechanics that support the character’s concept.
