LECTURES

Mr. Fauzi gave a few examples on how to use the pen and lasso tool for removing a background of an object. He also showed us about the layers panel which can be used to arrange the layer position of an object.

1. How to Use The Lasso Tool

Lasso allows the user to draw and pinpoint specific areas of a document. This tool is easier to use with a graphic tablet since it works similarly to a pencil. By this, it gives better flow when drawing and making selections.

2. How to Use The Pen Tool

Pen tool gives you access to creating paths. By adding points and dragging them, it determines how the paths will look. Keep in mind that the fewer the points, the smoother it looks.

Pen tool can be used in different ways and shapes. Here are some of them:

3. How to Use Layers in Photoshop

Layers are different images stacked on top of each other. Modifying a single layer wont affect the adjustments of other layers. If combined, they will form one final image.

PROJECTS

Digital Collage

After finalized the physical collage on the previous week, we were then asked to do our next project on digital. A total of 16 different assets were given to us by Mr. Fauzi from Google Drive, which then we can use for our digital collage. Here is some of the compositions I came up with:

Composition #1

Composition #2

REFLECTIONS

Since all we were allowed to use are the 16 assets given by Mr. Fauzi, I think this task challenges me to think creatively. It keeps reminding me that in designing, even if the assets may be limited, the ways we can utilize those assets are limitless.
