INSTRUCTIONS

PROJECTS

Week 2: Exercise

In this exercise, we were told to edit a sequence from pre-existing shots provided by Mr. Martin on Google Drive. Editing should be done on Premiere Pro and it should be 35 seconds sharp.

What I did was very simple, I added the graphics and sound effects, as well as a crappy song I wrote a few months ago for background music.

Week 6: Trailer

We were divided into 2 groups to work together on recreating a few scenes of EEAAO. These scenes then are going to be turned into a trailer. I think this was the project that I had the most fun working in. Up to this point.

After I got home, I started working on the trailer. I chose to make the trailer looked like a movie with "a couple trying to save the world" type of setting.

Week 7: Color Correction & Grading

Lalinmoon

This week, I did color correction for the Lalinmoon video. We were introduced to different kinds of color grading too.

Here is the result.

Trailer

Mr. Martin gave us a combination of colors for the color grading. Those colors are:

  • Teal & Orange
  • Bluish (cold)
  • Greenish (cold)
  • Brownish (warm)
  • Desaturation, 50%-70%
  • B & W, High Contrast.

REFLECTIONS

I enjoy doing color correction. It feels very satisfying when I get the colors correct. Like varnishing a painting, the firstly dull video can be turned into vibrant. This project made me learn about how to adjust colors so a video can look pleasing to the eyes. I hope I can learn more about color grading in the future because I think this is very interesting.
