TASK
Final Project
For my final project... I get to partner up with my friend Katherine, yipee. Kath is pretty cool and her works are awesome, but we ended up using my recipe and poster. Before starting, we looked around for references on Youtube and TikTok. After that we started working on the storyboard.

This is how we divide the task to each other. I work on the transitions (book animation), and steps for the pesto, meanwhile Kath will be working on ingredients and trofie steps parts. Anyways, let me show my process.
For the book I start by following this tutorial on Youtube:
But of course, I need to make the cover and everything first on Adobe Illustrator, here's my process. I used the pen tool to make the letters one by one but this initial cover looks too different from my poster style.
So I remade the cover, now with a style more fitting to the original poster by making a taller and skinnier letters. this style is pretty cute, I might make it into an actual usable font now that I think about it.

Next, I made some pages details to fill in the empty page when the paper flips.

REFLECTIONS
For this final project, I worked with my friend Katherine, and we divided the tasks based on our strengths. I focused on the book animation and pesto steps, and I worked very hard on making the book animation smooth and visually interesting. I played alot with the 3d space of AE. I redesigned the book cover to better match my poster style and added details like textures to improve the overall look. In the end, I learned a lot about teamwork and animation, and I am satisfied with the final result.
